Please remember that sump pumps discharging any non-sanitary or clear water sources into the sanitary sewer system are a violation of city ordinances.  Other non-sanitary or clear water sources to look for in your home are leaking toilets, faucets and furnace dehumidifiers.  Fixing these items will not only reduce your water bill but help Tonka Bay reduce its total sanitary sewer flow to Metropolitan Council Environmental Services, thus keeping sewer rates stable.  If you have any questions regarding any other type of clear water sources entering the sanitary sewer system or compliance with the sump pump ordinance, please call the Public Works Department at 952-474-2947.
