This non-supervisory position performs routine and specialized accounting work to process payroll, track accounts receivable/payable, and oversee utility billing operations. Also assists with the preparation of the City’s annual budget, administration of personnel benefits for City staff, management of the City’s insurance portfolio, and performance of other general administrative and accounting functions as assigned. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic self-starter with positive attitude, commitment to high quality work, willingness to learn, excellent customer service and a strong work ethic.

Minimum qualifications: High school degree or equivalent and two years of increasingly responsible finance-related work experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience. Knowledgeable of basic accounting practices and standards, and proficient with Microsoft Office software.

Desired qualifications: Associate degree or higher in accounting or a related field along with three years or more of finance-related work experience in a government setting. Direct experience with government accounting software (i.e. Banyon Data Systems or similar).

Work hours for this position are Monday – Thursday, 7:00 am – 5:30 pm, year-round. Applications will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on May 2nd.
