  Community Action Partnership - Hennepin County

This agency serves the 45 communities of Hennepin County (except Minneapolis) and works to improve the lives of low-income people.  Services include:  employment counseling, energy assistance, financial counseling and literacy, food support, foreclosure prevention, home buyer education and counseling, home maintenance, repair and rehab, legal services, reverse mortgage counseling, tax assistance and preparation, and transitional housing and support services.

  Excelsior Fire District

The Excelsior Fire District serves the communities of Deephaven, Excelsior, Shorewood and Tonka Bay.

  Excelsior-Lake Minnetonka Chamber of Commerce

The South Lake-Excelsior Chamber is the premier business organization in the South Lake Minnetonka area, serving the cities of Deephaven, Excelsior, Greenwood, Shorewood and Tonka Bay. 

  Excelsior Lake Minnetonka Historical Society

Founded in 1972, they serve the communities of Deephaven, Excelsior, Greenwood, Shorewood and Tonka Bay.  The museum and archives are free and open to the pubic. They hold the largest collection of historic artifacts and documents in the area.

  Hennepin County

  Hennepin County Water Patrol

Your link to permits for temporary structures on the lake which include: ice skating rinks, slalom courses, mooring buoys, swim areas, or floating rafts.

  Lake Minnetonka Conservation District

Your link to the organization that reviews Lake Minnetonka-related license applications, controls Eurasian milfoil and other exotic species, and reviews lake management issues. 

They also regulates charter boats and their liquor licenses, multiple docks, mooring areas, and de-icing.

  Metropolitan Council

The Met Council is the regional planning organization for the seven-county Twin Cities area.  Their website provides information about the region and regional services.

  Metropolitan Mosquito Control District

The Metropolitan Mosquito Control District promotes health and well being by protecting the public from disease and annoyance caused by mosquitoes, black flies and ticks, in an environmentally safe manner. The District covers the Twin Cities, Minnesota metro area which includes Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington Counties.  This is also the site to report dead birds for West Nile Virus testing (May through September).

  Minnehaha Creek Watershed District

The MCWD participates in water planning and implementation.  They also promote clean water through a number of family friendly events held throughout the year.

Information on our garbage/recycling/yard waste hauler.  Contact Republic Services directly if you  need a special pickup for large items or extra garbage.

A nonprofit organization with a mission to innovate and deliver services that meet the changing needs of older adults and their caregivers.

  Transit Link

Click on the link for information on this new dial-a-ride service available to the general public.  The service will expand throughout the seven-county metropolitan area by the end of May 2010.

WeCAN (Western Communities Action Network) goal is to give back to the community and support families in need.  They serve the Tonka Bay area as well as many other cities in the Lake Minnetonka area.  Whether is Meals on Wheels, volunteer opportunities, or finding assistance with transportation, food, or an emergency, they can help.
